Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van North Finchley
Man with Van North Finchley is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions we take to identify, prevent, and address modern slavery and human trafficking risks within our own activities and our supply chains.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and exploitation. This applies to everyone who works for or with Man with Van North Finchley, including employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation or individual involved in such practices and will take immediate action to terminate relationships where credible concerns are identified and not promptly remedied.
Our commitment is embedded in our core values of respect, integrity, and responsibility. All staff are made aware that compliance with this policy is a condition of working with Man with Van North Finchley, and that any breach may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contracts.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Man with Van North Finchley provides transport and moving services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chain primarily includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, cleaning and facilities services, and certain outsourced administrative and support services. We recognise that modern slavery risks can arise at any stage of a supply chain, particularly where subcontracted labour or temporary workforces are involved.
We aim to work with reputable suppliers who share our values and who can demonstrate their own commitment to preventing modern slavery. We expect our suppliers to comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws, and to maintain safe and fair working conditions for all workers.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We conduct proportionate due diligence on existing and potential suppliers. This includes assessing the nature of the services provided, the geographic location of operations, and the use of subcontractors or temporary labour. Where we identify higher-risk activities, we may request additional information to verify that appropriate safeguards are in place.
We reserve the right to review and, where appropriate, audit suppliers to check alignment with our zero-tolerance approach. Such reviews may include requesting relevant policies, statements, or certifications, asking targeted compliance questions, and, where feasible, meeting with key supplier representatives. If a supplier is found to be in breach of our standards, we will seek corrective actions within clear timeframes. If adequate remediation is not achieved, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Training and Awareness
We promote awareness of modern slavery risks through training and communication. Managers and staff involved in procurement, recruitment, and day-to-day operations are made aware of indicators of exploitation, such as signs of coercion, control over identity documents, or unreasonable working conditions. Our aim is to enable employees to recognise concerns and respond appropriately.
We review our learning materials periodically to ensure they reflect current legal requirements and emerging best practice, and to reinforce the importance of vigilance throughout our operations.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Man with Van North Finchley encourages all employees, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chain. Concerns can be raised directly to a manager or senior member of staff, or through our internal reporting channels. Reports can be made in confidence and will be handled sensitively and impartially.
We will investigate all reports as appropriate, take proportionate remedial action where required, and cooperate with relevant authorities where necessary. We will not tolerate any victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise genuine concerns in good faith.
Ongoing Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. We are committed to regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the measures described in this Statement and identifying opportunities to strengthen our approach.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed and updated at least once every twelve months, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation or the nature of our operations. As part of the annual review, we will consider feedback from employees and stakeholders, developments in best practice, and any incidents or concerns raised during the year. Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures, and training to ensure that Man with Van North Finchley continues to act as a responsible and ethical business.
